Int’l Children’s Day: PDP National Secretary solicits improved welfare for children

The National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has called on government at all levels to pay more attention to children’s welfare to be able to have access quality education, healthcare system and enhanced food security.

He says that until government shows commitment and sincerity on its readiness to provide sustainable infrastructure, quality education and guaranteed security of lives and property, the development of the society which harbors them as future leaders will continue to face challenges and thereafter becomes an illusion.

Anyanwu who is also the Governorship candidate of the party for the November 2023 election in Imo State, made this call while felicitating with them on this years’s Children’s Day celebration.

He regrets that in the last few years, the number of children that died as a result of government’s neglect and inability to provide them with necessary social amenities is on the high increase.

According to him, any nation that pays less attention to the welfare of its children is simply doomed to fail, adding that the level of care government accords to its young ones determines how serious such administration can be viewed.

While advising government at all levels to create platforms that will be less difficult for parents to access quality healthcare system for their children, expressing optimism that such innovation will place Nigeria on the map of global history as one of the nations of the world that invests more on children’s welfare.
