Hezekiah University holds maiden Convocation March 8

The first privately owned university in Imo State, Hezekiah University, Umudi in Nkwerre, Imo State, will on Saturday, 8th March, 2025, hold her first Convocation ceremony.

At a pre-convocation press briefing, Acting Vice Chancellor of Hezekiah University, Prof Anthony Okere stated that the University community is excited as it will be the first ever graduation ceremony in the history of the tertiary institution.

Prof Okere disclosed that the Convocation will commence with a lecture on Friday 7th March, 2025 to be delivered by Vice Chancellor of Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT), Prof Aloysius-Michaels Nnabugwu Okolie.

According to the Vice Chancellor, a little below 300 persons will be taking part in the maiden Convocation ceremony.

Prof Okere expressed gratitude to God that he is the sitting Vice Chancellor of the university as the institution holds it maiden Convocation ceremony since it was founded in 2015.

He lauded the founder and Chancellor of the university, Most Rev Prof Daddy Hezekiah for creating a conducive learning and working environment for students and staff respectively.

Also speaking, the Director of Academic Planning, Dr Ahamefula Mba disclosed that Hezekiah University has three faculties and there are 16 disciplines that have full accreditation.

In her remarks, Admission Officer, Dr Chika Ogbujo revealed that all admissions are done through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), adding that each student of the university enjoys a scholarship of one hundred thousand naira yearly from the founder.

Other senior staff of the university at the briefing include; Dr Alexander Madu; Dean of all Deans and Ven Innocent Osuoha; the Public Relations Officer.
