Diamond Bank founder, Pascal Dozie dies at 85

Renowned Nigerian business man and  entrepreneur, Mr Pascal Dozie, has reportedly died at the age of 85.

Independent Voice gathered that a statement issued by his family on Tuesday shows that Mr Dozie who founded Diamond Bank died on Monday. He had been battling age related illness.

Late Mr. Dozie,  an indigene of Egbu Owerri North LGA of Imo State, also served as chairman of Pan-Atlantic University. He was born on the 9th of April, 1939.

His educational background includes a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a master’s in Administrative Science from City University in London.

The late business entrepreneur also founded the African Development Consulting Group, working with notable companies such as Nestle and Pfizer.

He served as MTN Group chairman but later resigned and was succeeded by Ernest Ndukwe.

The federal government of Nigeria honoured him with the prestigious National Award of the Order of the Niger (OON) for his contributions to Nigeria’s banking industry.

He is survived by his wife Chinyere Dozie, and five children.
