Mbaise media group appoints HRM Eze Okoro as Patron

◾Media, critical in nation building -Royal Father

 

It was a gathering of culture, unity, and pride as a media professionals on the platform of Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP), officially appointed His Royal Majesty, Eze Chidume Okoro of Rehaboth Palace, Amano Obohia, in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State as its Patron.

Speaking at the event, President of FMMP, Comrade Patrick Chinenye Mgbaja, said the choice of HRM Eze Okoro was overwhelming among members.

“Mbaise has one of the highest concentration of Media Professionals in Nigeria. We want you to be our Patron, Your Majesty, because we believe your fatherly advice and leadership will guide us.”

The Event, which held at the Monarch’s Palace, Amaiyi, Amano Obohia in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area, attracted Community Leaders, Media Icons, and Guests who described the recognition as a fitting honor for a man who has not only served as Deputy Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, but also as Chairman of both Owerri Zone and Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers. Beyond traditional leadership, Eze Okoro is also celebrated as an international businessman and Employer of Labour with over 200 Workers.

Pioneer President, Chief Pastor Christian Nwokocha, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Mbaise and neighboring Communities, while Ori Martins called on the Monarch to champion a development blueprint, particularly for Road infrastructure, which he described as “a major pain point for Mbaise people.”

Elder Statesman, Chief Sir Batty Kalakiya, highlighted the power of the media, urging the Royal Father to use his new role to help harmonize Mbaise leadership.

“Journalists are ready to support you and other Traditional Rulers in any fight for the good of Mbaise. What we need now is one voice”, Kalakiya stated.

In his acceptance speech, Eze Chidume Okoro praised the Journalists for their solidarity and stressed the critical role of the Media in Nation building:

“I am deeply happy that the crème de la crème of Mbaise journalists came to pay me homage. Journalists are vital—propaganda itself is an instrument of war. Anybody ignoring Journalists does so at their own risk. I humbly accept to be your Patron and will support you in every possible way.”

The Royal Father also recalled his efforts in promoting Cultural Diplomacy, strengthening Political Unity, and boosting Economic Development during his years in leadership.

He expressed concern over the state of roads and infrastructure in Mbaise but assured that he would continue to use his influence to advocate for progress.

The event ended with renewed commitments by FMMP members and the Monarch to work together in promoting Unity, Cultural Pride, and development across Mbaise Land.
