As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to lift ban on political campaigns on June 14, 2023, the Governorship Candidate of PDP in Imo State, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has directed that the launching of his campaign on the said day be suspended forthwith.
This is in honour of Late Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha, a great woman and mother of our party’s leader, His Excellency, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha who will be buried on Friday, June 16, 2023.
According to the party’s Governorship standard bearer, late Dame Dorothy Ihedioha was a virtuous mother, a disciplinarian, role model and what a woman should be, noting that her contributions to the development of Mbaise nation in particular and Imo state at large is enough to declare a work free day as a mark of respect for her outstanding legacies..
Anyanwu also directs his political associates, friends and well-wishers to be in the mood of mourning during this period to honour our departed mother and role model.
He further enjoins his “Make Imo Safe Again” apostles, supporters and political allies to always remember our party leader, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the entire members of his family in prayer in this season of grief.
However, Senator Anyanwu therefore maintains that the official launching of his campaign will commence after late Mama would have been accorded the most deserved last respect.
While urging those she left behind to take consolation in the Lord, the PDP flag bearer further prayed God to give Mama’s soul eternal rest.
