Federal lawmaker expresses satisfaction with Otti’s Healthcare projects in Abia

The member representing the good people of Ikwuano Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Hon.Obinna Aguocha, has expressed his satisfaction with the hand work of Abia State Governor, Dr.Alex Chioma Otti, for bringing Health care and living care to the grassroots.

According to him, “what we have seen being demonstrated by the Health Commissioner is most of the things that we go out of town or even seek to go out of the Country is now being brought to the grassroots”.

Aguocha disclosed that it is not about health care but living care. He thanked God that Dr. Alex Otti, has demonstrated governance by ensuring that the people of Abia are being taken care of.

According to him, the Governor “has started very well just in two years. Imagine what will happen in 6 and 8 years or even if we insist in 12 years. So this is good news for Abia State”.

He also thanked the Honourable Commissioner for Health for the hard work and dedication he has shown.

“My advice to the people that will make use of the facilities is to enjoy it, protect and sustain the facilities, saying that if they hear anything like vandalism they should draw the attention of the authorities concerned.

“So seeing the facilities put in place which they are going to make use, they should make good use of it”, he stated.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Prof Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche, said that “this is a land mark project by His Excellency, Dr.Alex Otti OFR, who remembered what he promised when he took Office that one if his Cardinal promises is to take Health care down to the last man affordable and accessable health care to every one irrespective of their social class, irrespective of where they live. This is a promise kept as the standard of the facilities is a level two facility.

“As you enter into the centre, you see various equipment such as Auto Analyzers, incubators, Auto sound scanners. so our women can have Auto sound scanners. They don’t have to be referred to another place”, he stated.

“When you go to the labour room, you see an ultra modern delivery room that is equiped with modern facilities that are second to none anywhere in the world and then you enter the wards, you see very modern facilities for admission”.

Prof Uche, also added that “because of the modern equipment, we have witnessed how people are accessing the facilities because of the quality and that is what Dr.Alex Otti has promised and delivered”.

The Commissioner maintained that this is happening in 200 health care centres across the state. “It is the same quality, no difference with the one you see in Okaiuga-Nkwoegwu and Ogbodinibe in Umuahia North and South respectively”.

He enjoined the people of Nkwoegwu to support His Excellency, Dr.Alex Otti so that the good work he is doing in health sector will continue and he will finish it, and by the time he finishes it the whole world will be coming to Abia State.

‘We want to tell Ndi Abia that more is yet to come”, he assured.

Contributing, the Mayor of Umuahia North Local Government Area, Mr. Smart Ihuoma, said that they actually came to create awareness because some people are yet to know that these facilities have been put in place for their use.

“So when we say, we have come to functionalise it, we come to tell the people that this place is opened for them”.

Also, his counterpart from Umuahia South Local Government Area, Hon, Engr. Chinedu Emereuzo, said “my heart and the heart of the people of Umuahia south are filled with joy as we give thanks to the Executive Governor of Abia, State – Ekwueme, he is a wonderful man”, adding that they call him, EKWUEME.

“He is EKWUEME Ndi Abia as these are part of the promises he made and now has fulfilled it, we are very grateful,he added.

According to him, his position is that “the facilities and the project is ours since it belongs to us,it is not Government facility rather to the people of Ihenwekela Community,and Ogbodinibe and Umuahia South in general.

Emereuzo maintained that our duty is to make sure that the protection of these facilities are topmost that no equipment here will be missing. “So our duty is to protect the equipment and also encourage Umuahia South people to take advantage of these facilities especially this modern equipments her.

Others who spoke to newsmen include,the state Executive secretary Primary Health Care Abia State, Dr.Kalu U Kalu, Dr.Ogodo and others.
