◾Says community has no access roads, lacks electricity

The deplorable state of roads and total lack of electricity in the quiet Ihitte Owerri Community in Orlu Zone area of Imo State, is causing sleepless nights for residents of the community.

In a save-our-souls (SOS) message to our Correspondent, an indigene of the community, Akuoma Obijiaku, lamented that it seems the community, which shares border with Nnewi North in Anambra State, has been totally forgotten by successive administrations in Imo State.

According to her, Ihitte Owerri is the last community in Orlu LGA and there is no access road to the community, adding that what could pass as an access road from Obinugwu Community in Orlu is not passable, especially during the rainy season.

Obijiaku who cried out that all efforts to get the Chairman of Local Government Area (LGA), to intervene, proved abortive.

Continuing, Obijiaku decried that Ihitte Owerri Community is getting deserted as there is no single amenity that shows the presence of government in the area, stating that the people have no electricity in the community for as long as she can remember.

Obijiaku who said she resides in Abuja, lamented the state of desolation suffered by parents and other relatives in the community.

She appealed to Governor Hope Uzodimma and others close to the government to come to the aid of her community.

According to her, a quick fix could be done by doing a proper grading of the access road from Obinugwu end and up to the bridge that is the border with Anambra State.
