… As parents, guardians extol School management, staff

The newly established federal unity school in Imo State, Federal Science and Technical College, Umuaka in Njaba Local Government Area has set machinery in motion for the election of Parent Teachers Association, PTA executives scheduled to take place on the 15th of July, 2023.
Principal of the FSTC Umuaka, Mr Jeremiah Joseph Naye while addressing parents and staff of the institution at the school’s auditorium last Saturday, revealed that the electoral process is provided for in the guidelines from the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja and that it is applicable to all federal unity colleges across the nation.
Naye who thanked parents and guardians of the school for their support and patience since the inception of the College three years ago, pointed out that the PTA executive committee is not a parallel management organ of the school but rather will be playing supportive roles to the management of the FSTC Umuaka to ensure the growth of the institution.
He made it clear that the management of the College has no preferred persons for the positions and urged all stakeholders to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and in line with the guidelines from the Federal Ministry of Education.
The Vice Principal (Administration), Mr Ibezim read out the guidelines for the formation of the PTA executive committee.
Chairman of the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) of the FSTC Umuaka, Mr Anyanwu conducted the process for the election of members of the Electoral Committee.
Parents and guardians who spoke during the meeting took turns to laud the management team of the College led by Mr Naye for their painstaking efforts to make the FSTC Umuaka what it is now.
The electoral committee has five members which include Prof. Emenalom Oliver(Chairman, Mrs Eze Chidinma, Mr Muyiwa Chijioke, Dr Mrs Elekahia and Mrs Nnolim.
It will be recalled that the FSTC Umuaka is one of the six federal unity colleges set up by the federal government three years ago.
