Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu, has charged workers in the ministry to demonstrate greater commitment and accountability as official activities for the year commence.

Addressing staff during the first workers’ meeting of the year at the Ministry of Health block in the State Secretariat, Dr. Egu stressed that the new year would usher in improved work ethics and stronger attendance compliance across all departments and units. A roll call was conducted to verify attendance, an exercise the Commissioner indicated would become more consistent to ensure productivity.

“This year will not be the same,” she said, emphasizing that all workers would be mandated to be present and active at their duty posts. She also assured staff of the ministry’s commitment to strengthening welfare systems, noting that efficient service delivery must go hand-in-hand with better staff support.

In attendance were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hon. Adinnu Keneddy Ogemdi, alongside ministry directors, heads of departments, and other staff members.

The meeting officially signaled the ministry’s operational readiness for the year and set expectations for improved performance in the health sector.
