A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Lolo Chinyere Onyeise, has declared her readiness to contest and win the 2027 election for the Ezinihitte Mbaise State Constituency seat in the Imo State House of Assembly, promising inclusive representation and grassroots-driven leadership.

Speaking during a press interview shortly after emerging as the PDP candidate for the constituency, Onyeise said her decision to join the race was inspired by the need to provide accessible, accountable, and people-oriented representation for the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise.

The PDP Assistant State Women Leader for Owerri Zone described herself as a businesswoman, community organizer, wife, and mother who has spent years working with women groups, youths, and grassroots political structures across Imo State.

According to her, the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise deserve improved infrastructure, quality healthcare, support for small businesses, and better educational opportunities, stressing that her years of grassroots mobilization have given her firsthand understanding of the challenges facing the constituency.

She noted that her ambition was aimed at taking the concerns of the people to the State Assembly through effective legislation and constituency projects capable of delivering meaningful development.

On the issue of zoning, Onyeise acknowledged the existence of an established rotational arrangement in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, stating that the current arrangement favours her zone and contributed to the peaceful conduct of the party’s primary election.

She commended PDP leaders and stakeholders for respecting the zoning formula, which she said promotes fairness, equity, and unity among communities in the council area.

“The zoning arrangement may have opened the door, but I am determined to earn the trust and support of every ward in Ezinihitte Mbaise through service and inclusive representation,” she stated.

Addressing concerns over the financial demands of politics, Onyeise maintained that elections are not won by money alone but by people, trust, and strong grassroots structures.

She expressed confidence in the strength of the PDP and the support she enjoys from women groups, youths, party faithful, and other stakeholders across the constituency.

The PDP stalwart also spoke on the prospect of a woman representing Ezinihitte Mbaise in the State Assembly for the first time, insisting that the people are ready for a new political direction.

According to her, women in the area have consistently played major roles in mobilizing support and delivering electoral victories over the years without being given the opportunity to occupy key elective positions.

She argued that electing a woman would not only promote fairness and inclusion but also bring stronger advocacy for women, youths, and families.

Onyeise expressed confidence that her experience, grassroots connection, and commitment to service would convince the electorate to entrust her with the mandate in 2027.
