The Obizi Home and Abroad Union (OHABU) has congratulated the National Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), South East Zone C, Comrade Chief Ezenwa Adiuku, JP, on the reception being organised in his honour during the 2026 Pre-Iri-Ji Mbaise Lecture Series and Awards by the Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP).
In a congratulatory message jointly issued by the Obizi Eze-in-Council, Executive Council and members of the union at home and in the diaspora, the association described Adiuku as a worthy son of Obizi whose emergence as the NUJ National Vice President for South East Zone C was the result of years of dedication, discipline and commitment to journalism.
The union stated that the Obizi community has closely followed Adiuku’s professional journey and shares in the honour being bestowed on him, noting that his contributions to the journalism profession have earned him widespread respect.
According to the message, Nigeria, particularly the South East, needs journalists who remain committed to truth and professionalism despite prevailing challenges. It added that FMMP made the right choice in recognising Adiuku as one of Mbaise’s distinguished sons during this year’s Pre-Iri-Ji Lecture Series and Awards.
OHABU prayed for greater strength and wisdom for Adiuku as he continues to serve the journalism profession and wished him continued success in his leadership role.
The congratulatory message was endorsed by the traditional ruler of Obizi Autonomous Community, HRH Eze (Barr.) S. O. Azubuine (Obizie V), and the President General of Obizi Home and Abroad Union, Chief Dr. Benedict Ugochukwu Ujoatuonu.
