…As he hosts NUJ Zonal Secretary, Imo Exco
The Crown Prince of Chilaka Ukpo Dynasty in Mbaise, Prince Barr Chinenyeze Chilaka PhD last Saturday played host to some stakeholders of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) from Imo State, comprising the Secretary of NUJ for Zone C (South East), Comrade Eze Adiuku and executives of Imo State Council.
Addressing the visitors at his country home, Umunnaa Ezinihitte Mbaise, Prince Barr Chilaka who congratulated the new leadership of NUJ in Imo led by Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma JP, said he understands the plights and professional challenges of media professionals in the state.

Prince Chilaka who is also a journalist by training having obtained a Postgraduate Diploma from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja, disclosed that he has passion for the profession and that made him to study journalism.
He decried the poor remuneration of media professionals and journalists, adding that what they put into their line of duty is much more than how they are appreciated.
According to him, journalists are able to painstakingly carry on with their job due to the passion they have for the profession.
Continuing, the onetime Governorship aspirant promised to visit the secretariat of the NUJ in Owerri to see things for himself, stating that journalists should be appreciated by the society.
The lawyer who also has a doctorate degree in African Culture and Religion further took his visitors down memory lane by revealing that his grandfather, Late Eze Chilaka Ukpo is the foremost traditional ruler from Mbaise who reigned together with Late Eze Waturuocha and Eze Onyekwere of Nguru and Ahiara respectively.
In his remarks, the NUJ Zonal Secretary, Comrade Eze Adiuku lauded Prince Chilaka for his love for journalism and his desire to forge a healthy relationship with the NUJ.
Imo State NUJ Council Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma thanked Prince Chilaka for hosting the executives and promised him warm reception whenever the Crown Prince visits the NUJ secretariat.
