A call has gone to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down due to the rising cost of living in Nigeria.

Making the call in a release, the traditional spokesperson of Ndigbo and Onuigbo Ndigbo Gburugburu, Chief Engr Ejike Iwu, decried the level of hunger and starvation in the land.

According to Onuigbo Ndigbo Gburugburu, President Tinubu together with the Vice President and entire administrative aides should throw in the towel, citing their incapability to fix the economic and security challenges besetting the nation.

He stated that the challenges of the nation may have overwhelmed Mr President due to his old age as he and his aides have ran out of ideas after many policy flip-flops that have left the nation’s naira on a free fall.

The traditional spokesperson of Ndigbo said President Tinubu should show his love for the country and Nigerians by quickly resigning and let the electoral umpire, conduct another presidential election.

This he said is to enable Nigerians choose vibrant persons with the right competences and capacity to fix the numerous challenges facing the nation.

Chief Iwu raised an alarm that with the level of hunger and deprivation facing Nigerians presently, in a few months time, kwashiorkor may start ravaging the citizens.

Continuing, Onuigbo Ndigbo Gburugburu said since the president has reportedly acknowledged the pains Nigerians are passing through but has no solution, he should at least show understanding and passion by stepping down and allow fresh presidential poll to be conducted.

He equally pointed out that the rate at which people are dying is alarming due to the starvation and hunger in the land, adding that he sees danger ahead as a result of hunger that is ravaging the entire landscape of Nigeria.

On protests by aggrieved citizens in some parts of the nation, Onuigbo Ndigbo Gburugburu cautioned Ndigbo not to take part in any protest as they are always made that target of others for blame.
