The member representing Ezinihitte Mbaise State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Henry Agbasonu, has made move for the rehabilitation of roads in Ezinihitte Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Ngor Okpala and Ehime Mbano Local Government Areas.
Agbasonu who is House Committee Chairman on Education, moved a motion at plenary for the State Government to intervene and rehabilitate roads in the four Local Governmen areas, which are in deplorable conditions.
The lawmaker while addressing newsmen, decried the devastating effects of the roads.
He lamented that politicians seeking one thing or the other have always used them as campaign point without doing anything serious on that roads, and wondered why such should be the fate of these major roads.
According to Hon. Agbasonu while speaking on the issue during plenary, disclosed the importance of these roads to the economic activities of the State and appealed to Governor Hope Uzodinma to at least direct the Ministry of Works to do remedial work on the roads to ameliorate the negative impacts on the lives of the people and economic development.
Also, the Ezinihitte Mbaise Assembly representative, in a bill he co-sponsored urged the Sen. Uzodinma administration to make Agriculture a priority in order to boost the economy and increase Food Reserve in the State.
Continuing, the lawmaker assured his constituents Imo citizens, especially his constituents that the present House members will always be responsive as it should be in their legislative duties.
