The President General of Ezuruezu Mbaise Surveyor Joe Ogbonna Anosike said that the Minister for Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy Hannatu Musa Musawa, Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma and former Governors of Imo State have all been officially invited to grace the 2025 IRI-JI Mbaise Cultural Festival.
He called on Mbaise sons and daughters globally to get ready for the Mbaise mega event and urged them to contribute immensely towards the success stories of the annual yam festival, holding on August 15, 2025.
Surveyor Anosike made these statements during a harmonization meeting of the 2025 IRIJI MBAISE Central Planning Committee involving, Ezuruezu Mbaise, Ndi Eze and Ndi Ezeji held at the Ezuruezu Mbaise Civic Centre on Saturday July 5, 2025.
Surveyor Anosike dismissed insinuations that Mbaise is at war against itself over the planning of her annual national yam festival, and promised everyone a rancour-free and better ceremony.
Also speaking, the chairman of Publicity Committee of 2025 IRIJI MBAISE Chief Austin Onwubiko pleaded with the State Governor and the Chairmen of the three Local Government Areas in Mbaise on the need to fix several impassible roads in Mbaise prior to the home coming event.
Ezeji Dr Kachi Nwoga reminded the people of Mbaise that the month of August is traditionally viewed as a holy month, thanksgiving to God for bumper harvest and trouble free among the people of the area.
The traditional ruler of Itu Autonomous Community HRH Eze Ben Ifeanyichukwu Adindu was happy over the outcome of the meeting and affirmed that all necessary interest groups have been fused into the Central Planning Committee, just as the President of Ndi Ezeji Chief Gregory Ikeagwu corroborated during his own speech.
The 2025 IRIJI MBAISE Central Planning Committee meeting was chaired by TPL Chief Steve ONU, with Ezeji Dr Kachi Nwoga representing Ndi Ezeji in the Central Planning Committee.
Recall that the Planning Committee Chairman Chief Onu had earlier stated that the ceremony will take place at the Town School Itu, in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, with Barrister Louis Alozie SAN as Chairman of the occasion.
The exhibition of other Mbaise cultural ensembles will be on display during the IRIJI MBAISE Cultural Festival he concludes.
