…Says he would have appealed against apex court decision if there were constitutional chances
Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the November 11, 2023 election, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu said that he would have gone beyond the Supreme Court to appeal against the August 23rd apex court verdict regarding the true winner of the contest if there were still chances of appeal.
However, Senator Anyanwu maintained that since the Supreme Court is the last call point of the case, he has no other option than to hand everything to God whom he described as the most unbiased judge.
He made this disclosure on Friday while answering questions from newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
He regreted how the supreme Court, after seeing all the election discrepancies, falsification of results, indiscriminate hijack of election materials and abuse of people’s rights by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate still went ahead to validate the stolen mandate was most embarrassing.
On his political future, Anyanwu said that what was most important to him currently was to do his best to galvanize the PDP in the state, expressing optimism that the efforts so far put in place were enough to resuscitate the party.
While commending PDP members and Imo people at large for coming out en masse to vote for the party, further urged his supporters to remain focused and steadfast in the pursuit of their political goals.
Assuring them of a possible turnaround, Anyanwu who is the National Secretary of PDP stated that with the caliber of persons that would pilot the affairs of the party in the state were enough to stabilize the party and positively impact on its programmes.
