….As he charges clergymen to go after lost souls
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP for the November 11, 2023 election in Imo State, Hon Obinna Ekwebelem recently received an award of honour from the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Diocese of Owerri.
Hon Ekwebelem was presented with the award of a ‘Light Bearer’ at the Anglican Church of the New Covenant, Works Layout Owerri by His Lordship and Bishop of the Diocese, Rt Revd Dr Chukwuma Opara.
In the bestowing the honour to the SDP gubernatorial candidate, the Church said “it is in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the Anglican Church of the New Covenant at her foundation stage”.
Appreciating the honour to him, Imo SDP gubernatorial candidate, Hon Ekwebelem said reward for good work is more work.
While pledging to support the Anglican Communion at all times, he tasked clergymen “to be good shepherds, always going after the lost sheep as admonished in the parable of the fugitive son”.
Ekwebelem disclosed that seeking after lost souls will help in reducing crime and insecurity in the country and Imo state in particular.
He made some donations to assist in propagating the work of God.
