Following the recent ruling by Justice Emmanuel Akko of the Federal High Court in Bayelsa State, the reinstated Chairman of Labour Party, LP, in Imo State, Nze Cyril Akujobi has issued a stern warning to anyone that will impersonate his office, adding that such impersonation “will be met with with lawful resistance”.

Addressing journalists on Saturday in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, Nze Akujobi said: “It is no longer news that same Justice Emmanuel Akko’s court, in its ruling, declared as illegal and unlawful, the governorship primaries conducted by the court-suspended national chairman of the party, Barr Julius Abure, in Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi States”.

According to him, in every contest, there must be a winner and a loser, adding that the judiciary has given victory to both Lamidi Apapa and Evang Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu.

He said he has extended the olive branch to all aggrieved members of the party to come back and join hands in order to achieve victory in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The Chairman urged Imo citizens to disregard insinuations that Labour Party is divided in the state, saying: “we are focused, we are strategic and we are prepared to take over Imo in order to save the state from further balkanization”.
