The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Narcotics and Illicit Drugs Monitoring, Chief Ezechukwu Obonna has charged the citizens to resist the temptation of getting in the consumption and trafficking of illicit drugs.

Chief Obonna who spoke excitedly while celebrating his birthday, told independentvoice.ng drew the attention of the citizenry to a dangerous trend, which is Kush, a drug made from human bones and chemicals as well as the use of human urine and remains.

The release reads: “My dear beloved Imolites, it’s my wish that we make our dear state a drug free state. Let’s try to resist the temptation of getting involved in the consumption and trafficking of Illicit Drugs. The dangerous trend coming from Sierra called KUSH which is a drug made from human bones and chemicals and the act of drinking urine and inhaling human remains just to get high should be avoided at all cost. I wonder the reason for someone to get high since that leads to death thereafter.

“On this day of my birthday, I wish and pray we all come together to fight this menace of drug abuse which is now at an epidemic level. The fight begins from from our homes. All hands must be on deck to ensure that we help our God sent governor to achieve his aim of making our state a drug free state which will translate in making our state crime free.

“The Yuletide didn’t see us hearing stories of violent crimes across the state. This means that our governor is fast winning the war against insecurity. The total reduction in the rate of drug demand will see us winning the war entirely”.
