Abia Deputy Governor Flags Off 2nd Aba International Trade Fair Preparations

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, on Saturday 27th September, 2025, held a press conference in his office to kick-start preparations for the 2nd Aba International Trade Fair.

The event promises to be a major platform for businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors to showcase their products and services, network, and explore new opportunities. It will also promote Abia State’s economic growth, create jobs, and attract investments.

Engr. Emetu urged stakeholders, businesses, and entrepreneurs to participate actively in the trade fair, which is expected to attract visitors from across Nigeria and beyond. He announced that the theme of this year’s trade fair is “Sustaining the Momentum and Unlocking Abia’s Potentials” and that it will run from November 28 to December 27, 2025, at Aba Enyimba City.

The immediate past Honorable Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, now the Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Kingsley Nkwokeocha, added his voice, saying the trade fair promises to be the best so far. He called on interested individuals who want to partner with the government to do so and assured all that the committee created will work tirelessly to ensure a successful trade fair.

Highlights of the meeting included the introduction of the new Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr. Mrs. Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu, as well as questions from journalists and answers from the Deputy Governor.
