Abia State’s Hosting of South East Traditional Rulers Meeting a Success – Chairman

The Chairman of Umuahia North Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Eze Sir Innocent Adiele Nwaigwe of Ukaiuga Alaike Autonomous Community in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, has commended the Abia State Government for successfully hosting the South East Traditional Rulers meeting in Umuahia. The meeting, which brought together traditional rulers from across the South East region, provided a platform for discussions on issues affecting the region and ways to promote unity and development.

In an interview, the Chairman emphasized the importance of unity and development in the region, echoing the sentiments expressed during the meeting. He stated, “The meeting was a resounding success, and we appreciate the efforts of the Abia State Governor Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR in promoting development and showcasing the state’s progress.” He noted that the meeting was a significant step towards fostering greater cooperation and collaboration among traditional rulers in the region.

The Chairman highlighted the critical role of traditional rulers in shaping the destiny of their people and promoting regional unity and development. “As traditional rulers, we are committed to advising our people to support leaders who prioritize unity, development, and good governance,” he said. The Chairman also commended the Governor’s gesture, including presenting cola nuts himself during the meeting saying it demonstrated his commitment to traditional institutions. “The Governor’s presentation of cola nut was a significant gesture that demonstrated his respect and commitment to traditional institutions,” he said. He expressed pride in hosting colleagues from across the South East and looked forward to continuing efforts to promote peace and development in the region.
