The Alumni Association of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO has congratulated the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Chimons Group, Chief Engr Chibuike Lawrence Achigbu who the university has honoured with an honorary doctorate degree (Honoris Causa).
In a press release signed by Rotarian Madu Stanley Okechukwu, Chairman LOC and Ikukundu Iyke Anyanwu, Team Lead Publicity And Media LOC of the Alumni Convocation Activity Program as well as Prof. Laz Uzoechi, National President, the Association said Engr Achigbu has displayed exemplary leadership as well as being consistent and an “integral part of the team of FUTO alumni who have remained consistent in their support for the infrastructural upliftment of FUTO”.

Tech) (Honoris Causa) from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). The prestigious award will be conferred upon Chief Engineer Achigbu during the forthcoming 34th and 35th Combined Convocation Ceremony of FUTO scheduled for Saturday, the 2nd of December.

Chibuike Lawrence Achigbu, a distinguished Petroleum Engineer and leader in the Gas industry in Nigeria, is a recipient of numerous accolades and recognition for his outstanding contributions. With a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning nearly three decades, Mr. Achigbu has made significant impacts in various spheres of the industry. His academic journey includes a master’s degree (MPA) in Political Economy from the University of Lagos and a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum/Petrochemical Engineering Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership Development from the prestigious Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts.
“Chief Engineer Achigbu’s professional journey is a testament to his leadership and innovation. As the Group M a n a g i n g Director/CEO of Chimons Gas Limited, he has displayed exemplary leadership by managing a w o r k f o r c e of over 200 employees and steering the successful lifting of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) from NLNG into the domestic market.
