The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its gantry price for aviation turbine kerosene (ATK), commonly known as jet fuel, from N1,550 to N1,450 per litre, representing a N100 reduction. The new pricing is reported to have taken effect this week.
The development comes amid recent downward adjustments in petroleum product prices and follows an earlier reduction in the refinery’s petrol ex-depot price. Analysts say lower jet fuel costs could ease operating expenses for airlines, improve margins and potentially support more stable airfares over time, although retail effects may not be immediate.
Industry reports linked the adjustment to softer global crude oil prices and increasing competition within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.
