Imo State Commissioner for Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals, Chief Ernest Ibejiakor has disclosed Government’s readiness to pull down structures illegally erected on Industrial Layouts and Cluster Lands.
He disclosed this to Newsmen in his Office at the State Secretariat Owerri, listing the Industrial Layouts and Cluster Lands to include; Onitcha Road, Nekede / Naze and Technology Village, all in Owerri.
According to him, during his visit to the Layout and Clusters he observed that people have converted Government’s Lands meant for Industrialization to Residential Areas, and warned those who are still erecting theirs to desist from procuring carelessly because they would lose such Lands if they fail to go through due diligence.
The Commissioner reminded the members of the Public, especially the people of Umuezuo Naze in Owerri North Local Government Area that the new Naze Industrial Master Plan Layout located at Naze and Nekede Communities was duly acquired by the State Government and adequate consolation paid to the original land owners as required by law.
He warned that any art of trespass, interference or dealings on any portion of the layout land by Umuezuo people in particular and the public in general without due verification from the ministry will not be tolerated.
Chief Ibejiakor maintained that such trespassers will be made to face the wrath of the law.
