NUJ leaders to hold NEC meeting in Kano as Gov Kabir Yusuf hosts Union leaders

The ancient city of Kano will play host to the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ as the Union prepares to hold her next National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in the next week.

In a release signed by the Chairman and Secretary of NUJ Kano State Council, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi and Abubakar Shehu Kwaru respectively, arrangements are already in top gear towards hosting the NEC  meeting.

According to the release, the National Executive Council meeting will be held between Monday 11th to Wednesday the 13th August, 2025.

The statement maintained that, participants during the gathering will come from the thirty six states and the federal capital Territory, Abuja.

“The guests are expected to arrive on Monday the 11th of this month barring any hitch.

“Tuesday’s activities include media tour to projects sites being executed by the present administration in the state, courtesy visits and media parley with His excellency the Executive Governor, NEC meeting (Technical) and Dinner/Award night.

“The participants are expected to depart on Wednesday the 13th of this month as the National president of the NUJ comrade Alhassan Yahya will meet Kano veteran journalists on the same day”, the release stated.

Kano State Council of the NUJ expressed appreciation for the “financial benevolence and above all the profound support and cooperation rendered by His excellency the Executive of Kano state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the state Commissioner of Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya towards making the hosting right a reality”.
