A hotelier and businessman from Owerri, Imo State, Engr Henry Amaeze Osuji has thrown his weight behind the candidacy of retired Inspector General of Police, Mike Mbama Okiro from Rivers State as the next President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide.
The Lagos and Owerri based business man told our Correspondent that the position of President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo is like a diplomatic mission, which needs a personality with high profile and influence like Okiro.
According to him, the antecedents of the Egbema born retired police chief are rich for such a position.
“He understands the polity of Nigeria. He understands the ethnic cultural background of different tribes in Nigeria due to his experience as a policeman”, Engr Amaeze Osuji stressed.
Continuing, the hotelier and business man disclosed that Okiro would not be pushed around or manipulated by anyone.
“He cannot be pushed around, manipulated, intimidated or bought over because of his social status”, he concluded.
It will be recalled that Retired IGP Okiro is among the top contenders for the plum position of President General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide.
