The recent trending news of the altercation between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike and a soldier in Abuja, has been condemned by the traditional spokesperson and Onuigbo Ndígbo Gburugburu, Chief Dr Ejike Iwu.

In an interview with our Correspondent in Imo State capital, Owerri, he said Wike should have respected the explanation of the young officer who said he was acting based on orders from his superiors.

According to the traditional spokesperson, Wike should have channeled his anger to the superior military officer whose orders the young soldier was carrying out.

Continuing, he said it is the senior officer that ought to be held responsible for whatever may be the issues, adding that if the altercation snowballed into physical challenge, something fatal could have happened.

He decried those in authority who use their positions to intimidate people, saying that they should always show good leadership by following due legal process in their official duties.

Onuigbo Ndígbo Gburugburu decried Wike’s use of foul language and hurling of insults at the young officer.

Chief Dr Iwu stated that Wike should be called to order by the federal government for his behaviour, which is not befitting of a Minister of the FCT.

The traditional spokesperson called on other security operatives in the country to emulate the Naval officer by resisting to be used by people in authority to perpetrate evil or illegal activities that contravene.
