•As administration goes tough against cult activities

The executive governor of Abia State, Gov. Dr.Alex Chioma Otti has approved the commencement of payment to staff of Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic who were disengaged in 2018 and 2022.
Also, the government has taken decision against the growing incidence of cult related activities and harassment of innocent citizens across the state.
To this end, the state government has directed security agencies in the state to swing into action and arrest the urgly development.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu who was briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state Executive Council meeting revealed this and said Government would spare no effort in ensuring that the state is free from all forms of criminal activities.
“As a responsible government, this administration Will spear no efforts in ensuring that the state is rid of drug activities”, Prince Kanu stated.
The Commissioner disclosed that it has commenced the payment of Staff of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic who were disengaged between 2018 and 2022, has Commenced following the Governor’s approval in that regard.
“So far, 249 of such staff have been paid.
“This is another promise made and kept by His Excellency Dr.Alex Otti.
“You will recall that these are names that we inherited from the previous government”,
Prince Kanu also made it public that the renovation works at Abia State College of Education Technical (ASCETA) are on going and are at a commendable pace.
He noted that other projects such as the College auditorium, Students hostels, library, the school of Technical Education are all progressing very well.
Prince Kanu equally announced that Governor Alex Otti had earlier in the day received in audience a 15 year Old Àbia born miss Grace John Nkpa, who won a highly contested TechGirls 2025 contest to represent the state in the United States of America.
The Information Commissioner noted that Miss Grace Nkpa’s performance speaks volumes of the standard of education in the state, adding that Governor Otti has graciously offered to support her trip to the US with the sum of five thousand US Dollars.
Some members of the state Executive Council present include: Health Commissioner,Prof.Ogbonnaya Uche Enock, Industry and S.M.E Commissioner, Mazi Mich Akpara, S.A.Media to the Governor Hon.Ekeoma and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Ukoha Njoku Ukoha.
