The member representing Ezinihitte Mbaise State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Henry Agbasonu last Thursday had a crucial meeting with pensioners from his Constituency on issues affecting pension payments and gratuity.
According to him, the challenges in pension payment are traceable to incorrect data and unresolved bank issues, which the affected pensioners may not know.
The lawmaker had earlier made concerted efforts in his oversight function, to investigate the remote causes affecting pensioners in his constituency.
Hin Dr Agbasonu has come up with a workable solution to address these protracted challenges by reaching out to relevant authorities and extracting assurances in mitigating these challenges once and for all.
While addressing the over 500 pensioners in his country home, Okpofe, Agbasonu assured them that all those with such issues will have their due entitlements sooner than later and nobody will be left out.
He advised the pensioners to ensure that their details on the Resolution forms are carefully completed for smooth resolution as any detail wrongly completed will set the exercise back, adding that the aim is to ensure amicable resolution of issues in pension database in order to put smiles on the faces of all affected senior citizens from Ezinihitte Mbaise.
The Ezinihitte Mbaise House of Assembly member, commended Governor Hope Uzodimma whose administration has ensured regular payment of pensions on monthly basis since assumption of Office.
In a show of appreciation for the lawmaker’s intervention, the affected pensioners poured praises and prayers on Dr. Agbasonu for remembering them.
