All is set for the inauguration of Owerri Presbytery to Imo Mission Synod by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, the Moderator of Owerri Presbytery, Rt. Rev. Okorie Ume, PhD noted that the 5inauguration of Imo Mission Synod will be done by His Eminence, Ekpenyong Akpanika, PhD, Prelate and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, adding that the event will hold on the 17th of December at Owerri Parish, Aladinma by 10am prompt.
He posited that the inauguration of Imo Mission Synod will be among the 29 new Synods inaugurated by the church for evangelism and expansion of the gospel of God.
In his contribution, the Clerk of the Owerri Presbytery, Rev. Onuka Okereke said that the day will be remarkable in the life of the Presbytery as according to him, creme de la creme of the society are expected at the event especially that the principal officers of the church, like the Principal Clerk of the church, Most Rev. Miracle Ajah, PhD, the Deputy Clerk, Rt. Rev. Aniefiok Victor Ekop will grace the event. He hinted that all the Arms, parishes and associations of the church are set for the epoch making event. He called on the 10 parishes under the would-be synod to endeavor to attend to receive the guests
The Convener and Secretary of the inauguration committee, Elder Prof. Mrs. M. N. Obasi and Rev Dr. G. S. Adaka respectively revealed that all arrangements have been put in place, including security, Boys Brigade and other side attractions for an excellent inauguration. They urged invited guests, parishes and Arms to make that day memorable by coming out en-masse to witness the all-important inauguration as according to them, after 17 December, Owerri Presbytery will dissolve into a Mission Synod to the glory of God.
