Prince Nkwazema condemns attack on man by armed herdsmen in Nekede

Following the viral report of an attack on a man at Umuezerokam Nekede with deep machete cuts on his head and body by alleged armed herdsmen recently, Prince Bernard Nkwazema of Umuejechi Nekede Ancient Kingdom in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, has condemned the gruesome attack, describing it as barbaric.

In a press statement from his base in Ibadan, Oyo State, Prince Nkwazema while commending the efforts of government and security agencies to ensure the protection of citizens, urged them to intensify efforts to safeguard the helpless and defenceless citizens of Nekede to forestall annihilation by foreign bandits in their homeland.

Prince Nkwazema pointed out that the Nekede – Iheagwa – Avu axis has become a soft target for reported attacks and killings, appealing to Governor Hope Uzodimma and security agencies to place that place as top security priority.

He urged government and security agencies to ensure that perpetrators of such heinous acts are apprehended and dealt with according to serve as a deterrent to such incessant attacks.

The Nkwazema Royal Prince who expressed worry of the attacks due to his love for his people, stated that police and other security agencies should assist the Nekede community even as he advised the community to look inwards and adopt Community Policing strategy in order to safeguard lives and properties.

He equally called on the people of Nekede in particular and Imo citizens in general to continue to extend their support to the 3-R programme of the Imo State government.
