2027: AOVMC Unites 11 Pro-Groups, Adopts Governor Otti, Flags Off Door-To-Door Campaign in Isiala Ngwa South

In a powerful show of unity and grassroots strength, the Alex Otti Vanguard Movement for Continuity (AOVMC) on Monday, 14th September, 2026, brought together 11 Pro-Groups to formally adopt His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for re-election as Governor of Abia State in 2027.

The landmark political programme, held at Okpuihie Village, Okporo Ahaba – the hometown of the Founder/BOT Chairman and Leader of AOVMC, Elder Dr. Kingsley O. Nwaigburu, attracted LGA and Ward Executives of AOVMC, State Exco members, Coordinators and Secretaries of all affiliated pro-groups.

In the same vein, the coalition further adopted and endorsed other credible candidates for the 2027 general elections:

1. Rt. Hon. Darlington Nwokeocha for Abia Central Senatorial District

2. Rt. Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe for House of Representatives, Isiala Ngwa North / South Federal Constituency

3. Hon. Rowland Chinwendu (aka Cesar) for Abia State House of Assembly, Isiala Ngwa South Constituency.

Addressing the gathering, leaders of AOVMC said the meeting was convened to strengthen unity, coordination and grassroots mobilisation as the umbrella body for all pro-Otti groups. They described the first term of Governor Otti as a period of bold reforms, prudent management of resources and visible achievements that have restored hope in Abia.

A major highlight of the event was the *official kick-off of the door-to-door campaign* by the pro-groups, signaling a new phase of direct community sensitization across the 17 LGAs of the state.

Speaking at the event, the BOT Chairman, Elder Dr. K.O. Nwaigburu was commended for his foresight in bringing diverse groups under one united structure and for choosing his hometown for the strategic meeting, which reflects humility and commitment to grassroots politics.

The Movement also eulogized the Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Peter Azubuike, for his visionary leadership, political maturity and role in fostering unity among pro-groups working for the continuity of the Otti administration.

The State General Secretary of AOVMC, Dr. Fineboy Ikechi Joseph, thanked members of the press for their coverage and urged all LGA Coordinators and Ward Executives to intensify mobilisation and take the message of good governance to every household.

The programme ended with a renewed declaration: ‘Victory is sure for Governor Alex Otti in 2027’
