In continuation of the commitment of the Shared Prosperity Administration of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to revamp the entire sports sector of the State, plans have been concluded for the Volleyball Federation of Nigeria in collaboration with Imo State Government to host the 2023 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball League.

Already, the tournament has been scheduled to hold in Owerri the Imo State Capital between 3rd to 12th June, 2023.

Notably, preparatory to the National Volleyball League, Team Imo State has gone to camp as other competing Teams across the nation are expected to join in due course ahead of the kickoff of the tournament.

It is noteworthy to mention that the National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball League will among other things boost commercial activities in Imo State given the fact that a good number of participants and spectators will troop into the State during the sports event.

No doubt, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo deserves commendation as he has continued to drive the vision of Governor Uzodimma’s 3R Government in turning around the fortunes of Sports in its entirety in Imo State.
