◾As Sports Commissioner Onyeocha targets new Internationals for Imo
The Partnership between the Imo State’s Ministry of Sports under Commissioner Obinna Onyeocha, and the Sunzeal Football Club of Abuja is yielding fruits, following the arrival Tuesday, of Polish Coaches and scouts in Owerri, the State’s capital.
The agents who first landed Abuja flew into Owerri, and were escorted straight to the office of the Commissioner at the Ministry of Sports for talks. The guests later met with over 24 football coaches and local Club owners from Imo where modalities for the five-day trials were deliberated on.
The team later moved to Egbu to inspect the field and other things required for the exercise which will fully commence Wednesday morning.
Speaking to journalists in his office after their meetings Tuesday, Obinna Onyeocha said the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma “is determined to raise more football internationals who would take over from the ageing ones in the sector, adding that the Heartland FC Feeder Team which is solely run by his office is taking part in the trials”.
