Advanced Learners Dictionary defines integrity as an act of being steadfast and adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It is the state of being wholesome; unimpaired, quality or condition of being complete and pure in all.
To a novice, integrity is possessed by those who understand its worth. No matter how an individual pretends to possess integrity, his behavior and public posture determines its worth.
An African proverb has it that “gold is given to those who know its worth”. Integrity is a style more than gold. It is a design and a natural gift not bought with money. Those who understand its importance go for it. Integrity is not worn by corrupt leaders or “armed bandits” at the corridor of power.
Regrettably, today, dubious and fraudulent politicians struggle to reflect “integrity” in their political activities with a view to deceiving the gullible masses. They display cosmetic exposition of fakeness in all things they do simply to mislead those who never knew them for political reasons!
Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy), is a man with a reverberating and echoing integrity. His philanthropic gesture to the society is second to none. A man of ravishing panache anchored on exceptional social acculturation.
A young Lawmaker who dislikes politics of rancour, acrimony and bitterness first elected Executive Chairman of Ikeduru local government area for two terms at his prime. History has it that following his record breaking achievements, he was unanimously elected member representing Ikeduru state constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly for eight years. What integrity cannot do does not exist!
As expected, Senator Samdaddy did not injure the expectations of his people and fans at large but instead, brought joy, celebration, unity and development to the LGA in fulfilment of his promises for a better Ikeduru of the 21st century.
Due to his integrity, activeness, capacity, effectiveness, efficiency and legislative thoroughness, he was christened “Leader of the three wise men”. His eight years at the state Assembly was indeed a reflection of what a good leader with integrity should be.
A Greek Philosopher; Socrates says “political elevation is propelled by political deliverance”. This saying is a typical summation of Senator Samdady’s political ideology and life style.
Hate or not, Samdaddy is a man if integrity that has given concern to individuals willing to witness a new and transformed administration in the state. Where integrity cannot take a man, wealth is worthless!!!
