…Says Anochie is an impostor, unknown to party

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Imo State has debunked a media report that the state Secretary has resigned and defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.
In a press release from the Media Directorate of Obinna Bright Ekwebelem Campaign Organization, the party accused one Ben Anochie, who claimed to have resigned his position as the State Secretary of the SDP, of being an impostor who is unknown to the party.
According to the party, “the name Ben Anochie is not known to Imo SDP at all either as a party member or state executive.
“The State Secretary of SDP in Imo had been indisposed since last year and an acting Secretary had been appointed since early this year.
“If the impostor Ben Anochie has decided to tell lies to an unsuspecting political party in order to be accepted then that is a red flag to the said political party to be at alert .
“The campaign organization and SDP is focused on delivering Hon Ekwebelem as the next governor of Imo State.
“We warn the public not to take the impostor serious”.
Our correspondent could not reach the acting Secretary or Chairman of the SDP for comments at the time of filing this report as they were said not to be on seat.
A source from the Campaign Organization who spoke on condition of anonymity told newsmen that activities have shifted to the governorship Campaign secretariat of the SDP in Owerri and wondered how an unknown person will want to gain relevance by telling outright lies.
He said that the party is mobilizing and reaching out to the grassroots for support, adding that the party and her governorship candidate are not resting on their oars to win the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
