As the next Governorship election in Imo State draws close, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the scheduled 11th November 2023, Hon Obinna Bright Ekwebelem has urged Imo people to reject and stop over-recycled politicians from occupying the Douglas House.

According to him, Imo has been so unfortunate in terms of good governance over the years due to the continued occupation of the Government House by career politicians who have nothing to offer the people.

The SDP gubernatorial candidate insisted that these conventional politicians hardly introduce programs and policies that have direct bearing on the yearning and aspirations of the masses, safe for odd and obsolete ideas that will only favor their pockets, families, cronies and political friends.

Ekwebelem who is an Industrial Chemist and business man assured that if elected as governor, Imo will rise again to be counted among the first 10 leading states in the country.

Hear him: “You cannot continue to do the same thing with the same approach and expect to get a new result.

“In this 2023, Ndimo must rise to reject and stop these old political horses. All over the world, younger generation of leaders with fresh ideas are mounting the rostrum as Presidents, Governors, etc. Imo State cannot operate in isolation.

“Abia among other states recently did it with Dr Alex Otti, i want Ndimo to follow suit by stopping career politicians from occupying Government House if things will go well again.

“These politicians have either run out of ideas or are deliberate in punishing the electorate.

“All they do, is to continue with odd and obsolete policies to enrich their pockets, families and friends. Now is the right time to stop them all.

“I, Obinna Bright Ekwebelem represent dawn of a new era, i am not of the old brigade that have been milking Imo and Nigeria dry over the years to the detriment of the common man.

“My manifesto is all encompassing and implementable. It is clearly loaded with programs and policies that have direct bearing with the yearning and aspirations of Ndimo.

“Our programs on Agriculture, Security, Youth development/Employment, Health etc are second to none, and we will hit the ground running as soon as we are sworn-in on January 15th next year assuming we are successful at the poll.

“I therefore urge Imolites to give me a chance and see the state bounce back to life again after many years of wandering in the wilderness and valley of shadow of death”.
