HRM Eze Godfrey Chinedu Onwuka, Towe 1 of Umutowe Autonomous Community
in Umuahia south Local Government Area and immediate past Deputy Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, has commended Governor Alex Otti for what he described as a remarkable transformation of Abia State.

Speaking during an interview Eze Onwuka said the present administration represents a clear departure from previous governments in the state.

“What I am seeing now is completely different from what we witnessed in the past,” the monarch said. “Abia is now significantly better than it used to be. Governor Alex Otti has demonstrated to Abians why he sought to lead the state. He has proven his capacity.”

The royal father noted that residents across political divides have expressed satisfaction with the current direction of governance.
“Everybody in Abia State, irrespective of party affiliation, is pleased with the way the state is being run,” he stated. “I commend him. He has shown himself to be a worthy governor. Based on what he inherited and what we have seen now, I would rate him the best.”

While applauding the administration’s achievements, Eze Onwuka, urged the governor to extend more development projects to rural communities.

“He has changed Abia and he is still working. We see him working and we expect more from him,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of Omotowe Autonomous Community, the monarch expressed optimism that development would soon reach his area.
“Development has not yet reached us, but we expect that it will. As he continues his work, it will get to us and we will be very grateful.”

On the 2027 general elections, Eze Onwuka assured Governor Otti of continued support, noting that voters are now more focused on performance than rhetoric.
“The dynamics of elections have changed. What matters now is what a leader has done. The governor has done well for Abians and everybody is aware,” he said.

“For me, I have no doubt that he will return for a second term. We have tested him and found him to be trustworthy. He has changed the narrative. I do not see anyone credibly saying that Governor Otti has not performed or will not return. I am not campaigning, but when someone has done well, he should be given the opportunity to complete the job.
