The Owerri branch, situated at 102 Oparanozie Street, was commissioned on Wednesday, September 16, by Asiwaju Uzoma Anokwute, Operations Manager of the Imo State Lottery and Gaming Authority. Cutting the ribbon to formally open the facility, Anokwute voiced optimism about the venture’s prospects, noting that its success would depend on drawing patronage from a broad mix of customers, both big spenders and everyday players alike.

Speaking ahead of the commissioning, Okenze George Nkwoji, Managing Director of The Moment Communications Limited — the firm serving as super agents for Afro Lottery Systems — gave assurances that the outlet would operate strictly within the rules governing pool betting and gaming in the state. He added that the business intends to keep a close, cooperative relationship with regulators and the wider public.

The event also carried a spiritual note, as Rev. Canon Daberechi Maduakolam, Administrator of Obube Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church, dedicated the outlet to God and prayed against any form of illicit dealing on the premises.

Once fully operational, the outlet will offer number games, lottery draws, virtual sports, and scratch-and-win cards. Afro Lottery Systems is operated by D’Crowdafrik Nigeria Limited.
