Innocentian Society on Thursday celebrated the 86th birthday memorial mass for the founder and renowned pious man, the late Brother Innocent Chima Okorie, from Umuagunta, Owerre-Ebeiri in Orlu LGA of Imo State, who slept in the LORD, June 18, 2002.
In his sermon during the memorial mass held at Bro Innocent Okorie Memorial Hospital/ Innocentian Society Sisters’ Convent, Umuagunta, Ow/Ebeiri, Rev Fr Evaristius Ndidimaka Obioha said inter alia: “Jesus is in the Holy Spirit, the Church is the flesh and we are the Church. We must therefore be pure since the Holy Spirit does not dwells in impure body.

“Wisdom dominated our first reading. So, whoever abides in the Word of God is wise. Let us be wise enough to allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us…
“At any point, we should see ourselves as representing Jesus and before we do anything, we ask if Jesus would approve what we intended doing…”, Fr Obioha averred even as he professed that he was an ardent follower of Broda Inno, emphasising that the late pious man who bled during Good Fridays, compelled his followers to strictly obey the teachings of the Catholic Churcc.
Continuing, he enjoined members of Innocentian Society to persevere in reparation prayers until its founder get canonized by the Church.
He further encouraged the excited audience to attend the December 8, 2023 Final Procession of the Innocentian Sisters Congregation at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cathedral, Orlu.
Welcoming the people after the mass at Bro Inno Okorie country home, the head of Okorie dynasty, Chief, Sir Canice Nkemjika Okorie, oversees the conviviality even as Bro Felix Ekwe moderated the testifiers of miraculous works of Bro Inno Okorie.
Other highlights include blessing and sprinkling of water, breaking cake, speeches and entertainment.
