The Mbaise Nation Football League will officially begin this weekend across the Mbaise Nation.
Speaking on the landmark showpiece for football clubs in Mbaise, CEO of Wakawaka Sports Extra and organizer of the league, Kennedy Onwunali said it is an opportunity to give back ideas garnered over the years in sports as a player and administrator.
The former Concord of Abeokuta player said the competition will help discover young footballers and managers in the area and expose them to the world.
He noted that the project will help introduce the teams to the State Football Association programs which has been lacking in the area in the last few years due to the absence of proper organizations in the area.
Mr Onwunali said the league which has received the blessings of the high and mighty in the country has been described by football stakeholders in the state as solution to some of the problems faced by footballers in the area.
The competition will have seven teams including; Nze Chikere FC, Platinum FC, CENN FC, Emeka Akpunku FC, Amageb FC, Euro Connect FC and Silver Sports FC.

Nze Chikere FC will take on Emeka Akpunku FC of Ogbe in the first game at the Amuzi Mbaise Church Football Ground while CENN FC takes on Platinum FC in the star match of the weekend at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Football Ground Nkwogwu on Sunday 3rd June 2023.
The games will be streamed live to dedicated social media handles across the country with the endorsement of Pocacov as a community tool to empower the youths out of social vices in the area.
