Hon. Nnakire Obani, the 2027 House of Representatives candidate of the Action Alliance for Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, has outlined a series of community development initiatives he said demonstrate his longstanding commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
Speaking on his record of service, Obani maintained that leadership should be reflected in practical impact rather than campaign promises, noting that he has over the years committed personal resources, time, and effort toward programmes targeted at education, youth development, sports, women empowerment, and agriculture.
According to him, one of his major interventions has been the sponsorship of scholarship programmes aimed at supporting students in pursuing their educational ambitions.
He disclosed that the initiative reached its 10th edition in January 2026 and has provided assistance and encouragement to numerous beneficiaries over the years.
Obani also pointed to his involvement in skill acquisition and empowerment programmes designed to equip young people with practical abilities for self-reliance and economic advancement.
In the area of sports and youth engagement, the federal constituency hopeful said he has sponsored the Owutu Unity Cup for more than a decade, describing sports as an important tool for promoting unity, discovering talents, and engaging youths constructively.
He added that he has also supported football tournaments across Ezinihitte and Ahiazu to encourage young talents and strengthen peaceful coexistence among communities.
Highlighting efforts toward broader civic engagement, Obani said he championed and inaugurated the Mbaise Grassroots Development Initiative (MGDI), a people-oriented movement with the slogan “One Voice! One Future.”
According to him, the platform was created to encourage good governance and support the emergence of credible, competent, and service-driven leaders ahead of 2027, regardless of political affiliation.
He further stated that through the Nnakire Obani Foundation, educational materials are currently being distributed to pupils and students as part of efforts to support learning and ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.
Obani also emphasized support for women and farmers through empowerment initiatives and the distribution of fertilizers during farming seasons to improve agricultural productivity and household livelihoods.
He noted that most of these interventions predated his decision to seek elective office, stressing that they were motivated by his belief that those privileged with resources and opportunities should contribute to uplifting others.
The Action Alliance candidate expressed confidence that beneficiaries and community members can testify to the impact of the programmes and stated that his ambition is to expand such interventions through effective representation and broader access to opportunities for the benefit of the entire Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency.
