…Say there is nothing like Ohanaeze Youth Council
The youth wing of apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has condemned the extra-judicial killings in various parts of Igboland.
Addressing journalists during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Imo Council secretariat, Owerri on Monday, Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth wing, Mr. Chukwuma Okparaezeukwu said that the group made it clear that they would not condone the extra judicial execution of unarmed Igbo youths anywhere.
The youth wing however condemned the security challenges in some communities in the South East, especially in Oguta LGA, disclosing that it has swung into action with a view to finding lasting peace, stability and security in Igbo land and the country in general.
The youths also condemned disparaging statements against the Imo State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma, adding that they will not support such by any individual or group based on mere speculations.
Mr. Okparaezeukwu stated that there is nothing like Ohaneze Youth Council as the present leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo youth wing Worldwide was duly elected on 5th August 2021 under the supervision of the National Executive Committee of the Organization.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing dissociated itself from what it described as unfounded publications of Messrs Igboayaka O. Igboayaka and Ifeanyi Nweke who have been parading themselves as the National President and Secretary General respectively, of Ohaneze Youth Council.
It disclosed that the said publications by Igboayaka and Nweke are not representative of the position of Ohaneze Ndigbo youth wing Worldwide.
The group reaffirmed support to the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, government at all levels and the security agencies towards ensuring peace and security of Nigeria, especially the South East.
