…Enjoins citizens to join the party
As Imo State citizens prepare and await the their off cycle governorship election on November 11, 2023, candidate of the Social Democratic Party,. SDP, Hon Obinna Ekwebelem has assured that his administration will provide good governance, social justice and make for progress in the state.
In a chat with journalists in Owerri, Hon Ekwebelem boasted that the SDP has the most beneficial ideology for Nigerians and Imo people in particular.
He enjoined citizens to join the SDP as it is the political vehicle to capture political power in Imo come November 11.
Ekwebelem said the SDP “is a party that has well spelt out constitution for good governance, social justice and progress”.
“SDP is the party to be with. SDP is the party that will not disappoint you. SDP is the party with the right ideology”, he assured.
According to him, youths in the state and nationwide have risen to take their destinies in their hands by politically taking what belongs to them, which is leadership in the society.
On the recent defection of members of the State Working Committee SWC of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State to the ruling All Progressives Party, APC, the SDP gubernatorial candidate said it is within their rights as citizens of Nigeria to choose wherever they want to belong.
“There is freedom of association. But we should first know what the ideologies of political parties are before we join.
The Onuimo born standard bearer of the SDP, stated that parties are vehicles used to seize power while politics is the conspiracy of persons coming to seize political power.
He disclosed that party members in politics could be likened to a vehicle one is going on a journey with and it breaks down or is not moving at the rate he desires. He said such a person knowing his target location, has the choice of disembarking from the broken down or slow vehicle in order to meet up.
