… As court grants stay of execution over appeal court judgment

… Party’s leadership solidly behind scribe

The National Secretary of the PDP and leader of our great party in Imo State, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, on Monday January 13, 2025, resumed duties in his office at the PDP National Secretariat, the Wadata Plaza, Abuja, after the Christmas and New Year break.

This comes after a Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja granted an interim order of stay of the execution of the judgment of a Court of Appeal in Enugu with Appeal N0. CA/E/24/2024 and has ordered all parties to maintain status quo pending the hearing and determination of the appellant’s motion on notice for stay of execution filed by PDP against the said judgment of the Enugu Court of Appeal. The hearing was adjourned to January 27, 2025.

Sen. Anyanwu had upon resumption on Monday taken a cursory inspection of the complex before fielding questions from reporters who besieged his office.

The PDP chieftain’s appearance at the National Secretariat was greeted with a resounding ovation by members of staff at Wadata and a crowd of supporters who were around the complex when the national scribe arrived.

Anyanwu told reporters that he was focused on the assignment of steering PDP to success in 2027, insisting that the party remains one with a history of obedience to the rule of law despite the recent activities of some dissidents and which enjoys the goodwill of the Nigerian people.

He equally dispelled reports that the party was satisfied with the judgment of the Appeal Court in Enugu, stating that he has appealed the judgment at the Supreme Court with the full backing of the party’s leadership.
