Former Special Adviser to Imo Governor on Orientation, Chief Dr. Fidel Onyeneke has appealed to all political aspirants in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Imo state, to eschew bitterness and carry out their campaigns without rancour.
Chief Onyeneke made the appeal on Monday in his Country home at Avu,Owerri West LGA while addressing APC major stakeholders and Councillorship aspirants for Ward one of the Local government.

He stressed that political contest was not a Do-or-Die affair and as such,does not require attacks,bickerings and other forms of violence.
Chief Onyeneke admonished the Aspirants to embark on issue-based campaign,and accommodate the views of others.
He reminded them that whoever emerged winner would carry others along in order to give the Masses the expected dividends of democracy.
Chief Onyeneke expressed optimism that peace would reign Supreme through out the period of the Local government elections in different parts of Imo State.
He therefore solicited for comportment on the part of the Aspirants and their supporters,adding that they should avoid making of unguarded utterances capable of causing discord.
Chief Onyeneke also urged the Leaders and stakeholders to assist the Aspirants by giving them advice that would not make them to derail in their political activities.
In his Speech,the Chairman of APC in Owerri West LGA, Mr Humphrey Umunnakwe assured that the party was working hard towards the success of its candidates at the polls.
Mr Umunnakwe advised the Aspirants to have the interest of the people at heart,and shun acts that would heat up the polity unnecessarily.
The highlight of the meeting was the consensus reached by all the APC Councillorship Aspirants in Avu/Oforola ward 1,to go to the primary election with open mind,after which they would support whoever emerged as the Candidate.
The meeting was attended by political stakeholders,APC Leaders,past Councillors and Community leaders from Avu Ancient Kingdom.
