The Sports Writers Association of Nigeri, Imo State Chapter has sent its condolences to the management of the state-owned team, Heartland FC of Owerri and Imo State government on the fatal accident that claimed the life of Coach Christan Obi and got other players hospitalized.
In a statement by the Chairman of SWAN in Imo State, Mr Cosmos Chukwuemeka, the Association expressed its deepest condolences to the club and Imo State over the unfortunate accident.
The Association recalled Coach Obi’s contributions to the Naze Millionaires, both as a player and an official.
While praying God to grant the soul of Coach Obi eternal rest and quick recovery to the injured players, the association called on the State government and the Police authority to investigate the cause of the accident to prevent reoccurrence.
