An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship aspirant for Okigwe Local Government Area, Rt Hon. Godwin Nwankwo JP, has pledged to raise the bar of political leadership in the Local Government.

Nwankwo disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, saying that was one of the cardinal objectives behind his desire to run for the position of the chairmanship.

He said, “I am seeking for the position of the chairmanship in okigwe LGA to raise the bar of political Leadership, having been a one time leader of all councillors in the State, I will demonstrate leadership capacity that will surpass our previous and current experiences, as well as address the weaknesses of previous and ongoing administration, and also build on their gains to set a prospect for the future of the Local Government.

“Above all, I am hoping that my adoption and subsequent election as the candidate to represent the All Progressives Congress in next Council election in Imo State will help redress the lopsidedness we have witnessed recently”.

Nwankwo also appealed to residents to support his aspiration in the interest of equity and fairness.

“As a democrat, I am a firm believer in building consensus through stable and due consultation among the elite of different groups. I am appealing to you to key into this democratic thinking”, he added.

“As the foremost aspirant, I would like to humbly ask you to adopt the re-election of the 3R government, ably led by the Workaholic Governor of our dear State, HE Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State as yours in the interest of our dear people, so that he will continue with the good works he has started in the State. HE Governor Hope Uzodimma is a Progressive,,” he concludes.
